One Day Workshop:

We offer a unique interactive approach to learning about and managing your mental health and wellbeing, using research backed techniques and skills that when used daily to manage ourselves will assist with a positive focused self-management moving forward.

We offer a selection of workshops designed around what your Group, Community, School, Workplace or Sports Club need.

Managing our daily mental wellness before it becomes mental illness - is as important as daily physical activity.

Just as we look after our daily personal hygiene like, brushing our teeth, washing our body, cleaning/tidying our surrounds, washing our hands after using the bathroom etc. so why not approach and manage our mind and inner thoughts each day with techniques to keep us healthy, balanced, calm and happy, a bit like physio for the mind.

Likewise, when we injure ourselves physically, we quickly render first aid, don't we. Whether it's a band aid, a bandage or a sling to support a broken limb, then call for assistance if needed. So why wouldn't we render first aid to our mental wellness and wellbeing if we felt something wasn't right and needed attention, and what if we had the tools to manage and understand better in this area in the early stages before everything got on top of us.

We would like to see a change in how we manage our mental wellness and render assistance in early intervention.

The fight- flight - freeze response is the body's natural reaction to danger. It's a type of stress response that helps you react to perceived threats, like an oncoming car or growling dog. The response instantly causes hormonal and physiological changes.

So, what happens if the response becomes overactive, you begin to feel as though you are under attack and become hypervigilant.

The long-term activation of the stress response system and the over exposure to cortisol and other stress hormones that follows can disrupt almost all your body's processes.

By learning what those changes do, we can be aware of the impacts of the Fright, Flight, Freeze response on the body and the mind we can understand how if left unsupported it can lead to a serious psychological injury like stress, anxiety and even post trauma.

This is how we are different from what we see on offer in other workshops.

We look at the Fright, Flight and Freeze response in a unique yet practical demonstration that is suitable and understandable for all age groups, whether its school age youth, rural communities, men's groups, veterans, sporting groups or first responders and their families.......anyone.

"First Aid for the Mind" - This is a self-management approach to the emotional ups and downs in life. Using scientifically proven techniques that work to rewire the brain by sending calming signals to the amygdala, the stress centre of the brain, allowing both the body and the brain to release limitations from negative experiences, emotions, thoughts and much more that hold us back from creating the balance in life we want.

Most people don't realize how big of an impact chronic stress has on their life until it has an effect.

Learn how your body and mind will react, compensate, relive and question what has happened on what you may have experienced and or witnessed. We are also aware and understand that it may take some time for issues to arise after such an incident, it's different for everyone right!

Our talks & workshop are designed to educate on what happens within the mind in a situation of stress overload and to assist with hands on techniques that really help you to manage better for you and those around you.

Each workshop is tailored to your needs whether its major Stress, a Traumatic Incident or Accident or understanding loss from Suicide in your community/ workplace/ group or perhaps managing our Mental Wellness in these trying times, post Covid.

Our workshops offer a safe space, and we are conscious about safe language in our presentations for our attendees. Informative presentations that educate you using proven techniques and tools for your ongoing self-care and resilience.

We believe that if you are aware of what to expect then you are better informed to know when post trauma becomes unmanageable for you.

This in turn means that you will seek support earlier and your outcome is resolved sooner rather than later.
